Area : 60 Sq mt.

Brief : An extension for the existing old house. 

This interesting work challenges us to be coherence about old and new structures. Client has an existing 100-year-old ancestral villa with lot of sentiments attached. As family grows they want to expand their house with minor demolition and giving an old house a fresh look keeping the layout as it is. We tried creating 2BHK unit G+1 with minimal & footprint connecting it to their existing house with a common lounge area. New structure has a private entry with a garage in front. Lower floor has a lounge and One bedroom with attached bath. Upper floor has an open minimalistic kitchen which opens up to terrace bar.  Folding slab staircase plays an interesting design feature from inside out. These openings offer glimpses towards the landscape which rebuilds the domestic space. Master bedroom is filled with natural lights that enter room from different heights. In addition, bathroom glazing frames the view towards the scenes of sky as the season changes. Master bath has a black slate floor and black grid tiles differentiating the new environment from the rest of the house.
